Husky Diner

Every student needs lunch during the school day.  Research has shown that hungry children cannot learn.  A child with an empty stomach is lethargic, irritable, and is not able to participate fully in learning experiences.  Good nutrition is critical to student achievement.

Jan 2008 Menu

Each day all students in Grades K-12 are offered the following selections:

  • Daily Menu
  • Juice Bar
  • Fresh Fruit Bar
  • Fresh Vegetable/Salad Bar
  • Canned Fruit
  • Yogurt
  • Cottage Cheese
  • Milk
  • Bread or Bread Equivalent
  • Dessert

In Grades K-2 the students are offered two hot entrees or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  The student must choose one for their main entree and three side dishes.

Snak Shak Price List - available for Grades 7-12

In Grades 3-6 the students are offered two hot entrees, cold sandwiches and chef salads.  The student must choose one for their main entree and three side dishes.

In Grades 7-12 the students are offered nine entrees each day and several side dishes.  The student must choose one the the main entree and three side dishes.

Requests for special diet requirements must be accompanied by a doctor's statement.

The Husky Diner and Husky Pup Diner use the Lunch Cashier System which was written for use by schools that serve daily hot meals to students.  The system provides complete management information about family meal accounts, including receipts, charges made against accounts by students or adults purchasing lunches or milk and auto automatic monitoring of account balances.  This system is a debit system, which means that you deposit money into your family account and as students/adults eat, the meal charge is deducted from your account balance.  You must have money in your account in order to use it as the Aurora Public Schools has a no charging policy.

Each family account has a three digit Family ID number for deposits and each student has a four digit lunch ID number to make purchases from the family account.  Each student will need to memorize their lunch ID number as it will remain the same throughout their enrollment in the Aurora Public Schools.

Families that qualify for free or reduced price benefits must deposit money in their account if they want their child(ren) to purchase any other food items other than the one meal per day provided by the program.

Locations at Schools to Make Deposits

  • Elementary - Media Center
  • Middle School - Ticket Booth - (New location in the theater window at the Each End of the Commons Area)

    Aurora Schools Husky Diner

One check can be sent for the entire family.
When you pay your account, please include your family ID number on your check.

The Husky Diner considers an account delinquent anytime the account falls into the negative.  If your account enters into the negative, your family account will be blocked and you will no longer be able to purchase against your account.  A sack lunch will need to be sent to the school with your child(ren) until the account is made current.

When a low balance occurs in your account, the elementary student will receive a Lunch Husky Paw Hand Stamp and the middle and senior high students will receive a Verbal or Written Notice.
