Our
recently remodeled Aurora Middle School provides educational
opportunities for students in grades six, seven, and eight,
of the Aurora School District. Aurora Middle School is located
just to the south of Aurora High School, separated only by
a circle drive that allows ease and accessibility for picking
up and dropping off students by passenger vehicles. Aurora
Middle School, enrollment of approximately 300 students, averages
about 100 students per grade level.
Students within the Aurora Middle School,
enjoy an eight period schedule which consists of core courses
of Math, Science, English, Reading, and Social Studies, as
well as a variety of exploratory and elective courses. In
addition to their eight class periods, students begin their
day with a 16 minute advisor / advisee program called TNT.
TNT (Time and Togetherness) provides and opportunity for classroom
instruction that focuses on the academic and social needs
of students. Class sizes will range from 16-18 students.
A direct spin-off from our TNT program is
our Middle School Club Activities. Through these Club Activities,
students are provided with unique opportunities to explore
a variety of social, academic interests and hobbies that may
become life long interests.
A staff of 31 classroom instructors enjoy
providing instruction to our Middle School students. Within
the group of 31 instructors, several instructors also teach
high school or elementary classes. As we share instructors,
we also share facilities including a very large and attractive
Media Center that is conveniently located for all students
in grades 6-12.
Mr. Ken Thiele, has been the Principal at
Aurora Middle School since 1992.
