Curriculum Description:
English
The goal of sixth grade English is to improve writing skills
and to develop an appreciation of good writing. During the
year we will write short stories, memoirs, and poetry. We
will learn about the history of the English language and etymology
(word history).
Reading
We will read a variety of literature. Our text is Reading
Street (Scott Foresman). We will also read Hatchet,
Number the Stars, Jar
of Dreams, Tuck Everlasting,
and Bud, Not Buddy. |
