Welcome to Mrs. Hultgren's Social
Studies
6th Grade Home
Creating a country scrapbook is a
fun way to learn many fascinating things about
a country. You are to research and prepare
a scrapbook about Mexico.
You should include the following sections in your
scrapbook:
-
Map of Mexico
-
Information about their government
-
Jobs of the people
-
Important holidays and fiestas
-
Biographical sketch of a famous
person
-
Sample of Mexico's money and
the value of the money in United States dollars
-
Three of more pictures of places
you would like to visit
-
Plan ahead by organizing your
research before beginning your scrapbook.
Share the work with your group so everyone has
a part in the final product.
-
Use the Internet to find maps,
pictures and money. Several class periods
will be given to do searches. Possible sites
are listed on the back of this sheet. Use
books from the social studies room to help you
with any information you are unable to find on
the Internet.
-
Be creative. Make your scrapbook
interesting to read.
-
Type all pages on the computer.
When using graphics or pictures, include a caption.
-
Think of a title. Then
develop a cover. Put the names of your group on
the cover.
-
Compile your scrapbook.
Staple it together.
Websites
for Creating Your Country Scrapbooks
Use the Google Search box to search
for other information about your country. Type your
keyword into the search box. If you need to narrow
the search, add a space, then type a + sign and the
second keyword. For example, type Mexico + map
to look for maps of Mexico.
